SCHENECTADY — An unattended package near the VA Primary Care Practice in Sheridan Plaza led to a police response out of caution today, police said.
The package, a large envelope, turned out to be nothing harmful.
The package was spotted leaning against the outside wall of the plaza, near the clinic, at about 11 a.m. There were no threats associated with the package.
Police and sheriff’s deputies responded. A sheriff’s bomb-sniffing canine arrived at the scene shortly after noon and was led around the package and the surrounding area but did not detect anything harmful.
The plaza remained open throughout.
