Motorists are being warned to expect significant delays on an Interstate 90 bridge that spans the Hudson River in Albany.
State transportation officials say there will be lane and ramp closures all weekend and are advising motorists to avoid the area.
Lane closures will begin at 8 p.m. Friday and continue through 5:30 a.m. Monday. The eastbound side of the Patroon Island Bridge will be completely closed to traffic while the westbound side will accommodate all traffic, with one lane open for eastbound traffic and two for westbound traffic.
Motorists are encouraged to use the Dunn Memorial Bridge carrying Routes 9 and 20 just south of the Patroon Island Bridge, the Troy-Menands Bridge carrying Route 378 to the north of the bridge, or the Berkshire Spur of the Thruway.
