The state Gaming Commission briefly released today the 17 casino applications received last month from developers proposing projects across upstate New York.

The commission had to take them off the Internet a few hours later because of technical problems, according to a message posted this afternoon on its Twitter account. The commission expects the proposals to again be available tomorrow at http://gaming.ny.gov/gaming/casinos.php.

“Due to tech issues, we had to temporarily take down the casino applications,” the commission’s tweet read. “We will repost as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience.”

There are five casino projects proposed for the Capital Region, in Amsterdam, Cobleskill, East Greenbush, Rensselaer and Schenectady. Other projects are being pitched in the Hudson Valley and Southern Tier.

Developers will make public presentations of each project on Sept. 8 and Sept. 9 in Albany. Then Sept. 22 through Sept. 24 public hearings will be held in each region where casinos will be built.

The Gaming Commission’s Facility Location Board will award four casino licenses in the three regions, with each region receiving at least one license, sometime in the fall.
