Two eastbound lanes on the Thruway just west of Albany have reopened after being closed for about two hours after a load of glass fell off a van.
The Thruway Authority says the accident occurred around 5:20 a.m. Monday on Interstate 90’s eastbound side between Exit 25 and Exit 24 in the town of Guilderland.
State troopers say a van was hauling glass when it was hit by another vehicle, causing one of the glass panels to fall off and shatter, sending debris across all three lanes.
Two of the lanes were closed while traffic was able to pass on the one lane that remained open.
The other two lanes reopened around 7:15 a.m. but long delays persisted for another hour.
Troopers say one person in each vehicle suffered minor injuries.
