Sheryl Crow at Hoffman’s Playland

The photo is of yet another mom, hanging over the edge of the Tilt-a-Whirl at Hoffman’s Playland, looking (or at least pretending) like she is about to lose her lunch.

Just another mom, except for the fact she is Grammy-winning singer/guitarist Sheryl Crow, who brought her two children to the park Sunday before performing with Rascal Flatts and Gloriana at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

On its Twitter feed the amusement park asked Crow “did you have a blast?! If it’s true… We pride ourselves in good ole’ fashioned fun!”

Crow replied Tuesday, with a photo:

[email protected] – it’s true & we had a blast… until I almost threw up on the tilt-a-whirl! Thanks for a fun day!”

Crow also gave a shout out during her performance at SPAC, mentioning what a great time she and her children had “at that little amusement park by Subway.”

Hoffman’s Playland, an iconic amusement park in Latham for more than six decades, will close for good in September. The eight acres of land on Route 9 will be redeveloped for retail and residential purposes.

The park opened in 1952 with two rides and live ponies. Since then, it expanded to include nearly two dozen rides, food venues, an arcade and a Subway restaurant.
