Halfmoon voters gave Republicans a boost of confidence Tuesday, electing two members of the GOP to a pair of partial terms on the Town Board.
Residents backed Republicans Daphne Jordon and Jeremy Connors over Democrats Joseph Christopher and Deana Stephenson. In selecting the GOP candidates, voters continued a time-honored tradition of only electing Republicans to the Town Board.
“We have a strong team ready to go to work for the town of Halfmoon,” said Connors, who was celebrating with fellow Republicans at Salty’s Pub and Bistro. “We’re here for everyone to do the work for the people of Halfmoon.”
Both GOP candidates landed more than 50 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results. Connors beat Stephenson by a vote of 3,374 to 2,879, while Jordan bested Christopher by a vote of 3,565 to 2,608.
