U.S. attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch has named a chief assistant for her federal prosecutor’s office.
The U.S. attorney in Brooklyn wrote in a memo dated Wednesday that Kelly Currie will join her office next week.
Currie was a prosecutor in the Brooklyn office for a decade before working in private practice for the past four years.
He’s a graduate of the University School of Virginia School of Law.
Lynch has been nominated to replace outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder.
Currie will be in line to become acting U.S. attorney if she’s confirmed.
