STILLWATER — An author of several books on the Revolutionary War is giving a talk at an upstate New York battlefield about veterans of the American Revolution who lived long enough into the 19th century to have their photographs taken.
Don Hagist of Providence, Rhode Island, will speak at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Saratoga National Historical Park in Stillwater on his latest book, “The Revolution’s Last Men”
In his book, Hagist shows photos of the last six veterans of the American Revolution who lived long enough to enter the age of photography and have their pictures taken. He also writes about the veterans’ military service histories.
His presentation will be given at the battlefield’s visitor center, located just north of the village of Stillwater.
Hagist is the editor of the online Journal of the American Revolution.
