ALBANY — Sophomore Michael Hughes threw a three-hitter today to get seventh-seeded Troy past No.3 Scotia-Glenville 4-1 in the semifinals of the Section II Class A baseball tournament.

Hughes took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before Brandon Sarknowski singled with two out in the fifth inning. Hughes worked out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the Scotia sixth, preserving the 4-1 lead.

David Judge drove in two runs in the first inning for Troy. Connor McGrath also drove in a run for the Flying Horses, who advanced to Thursday’s championship game at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.

Marty McCollum singled in the Scotia run.
