SportsSignup, a software company based in Saratoga Springs, announced on Tuesday that it would be entering into a partnership with Babe Ruth League Inc.
The Saratoga-based company was begun in 2001 when founder John Haller witnessed his wife Michelle sorting 800 soccer registration forms for the Latham Circle Soccer League. His thought: There had to be a better way.
Anthony Bruno, who joined the company in 2008 and is now the president, said that the company’s software provides sports leagues with a means to better organize and manage everything from rosters, schedules and fee collection to background checks on coaches.
“What we offer is sanity to people who are involved in youth sports,” Bruno said.
The company has 38 employees and currently has over 3,000 customers, according to Bruno. He said that while smaller organizations are the company’s base, bigger clients like Babe Ruth League Inc. are a source of great pride for the company.
“These types of deals are just not done every day,” Bruno said.
Bruno said the company hopes to expand in Saratoga. “People are now expecting services like ours to be in place,” Bruno said.
SportsSignup service for Babe Ruth League Inc. is scheduled to launch on Sept. 1.
