A man in his 20s was shot early Sunday morning in the area of Paige Street in Schenectady and is now being treated at Albany Medical Center, according to police.

A male victim was shot in the leg around 1:15 a.m. in the area of 512 Paige Street, Sgt. Matt Dearing said. The victim was later located in the area of Crane Street and Francis Avenue.

“The victim left the scene,” Dearing said. “When police showed up no one was there. He was located within four minutes in the area of Crane Street, a little bit away.”

The victim, who is not being identified at this time, was taken to Ellis Hospital but later transferred to Albany Med. His condition is unclear at this time.

Dearing said police received multiple calls of shots fired in the area early Sunday morning. The investigation is ongoing and there are no suspects at this time.
