Police said this afternoon that one of the victims of Friday night’s hit-and-run accidents on State Street has died from his injuries.
The man, identified as 29-year-old Jerry J. Faine of Schenectady, was struck near the intersection of State Street and Waldorf Place around 9 p.m.
The other pedestrian struck by the same vehicle, identified as 61-year-old Donald G. Shaffer, is reportedly in stable condition at Albany Medical Center.
Police say both were struck by the same driver, who then fled on foot into St. John’s Cemetery.
The investigation is ongoing.
