5 more Schenectady buildings to be demolished

Five more blighting building in Schenectady will be demolished, including several on Broadway, Mayor Gary McCarthy announced on Friday.

The demolitions include taking down 1419 Broadway, 1427 Broadway, 1431 Broadway, 806 Sprague St. and 1033 Forest Rd.

Another 10 buildings will be demolished in November and December by Jackson Demolition of Schenectady, including several on Crane Street.

Next month 1580 Foster Ave., 642-644 Crane St., 636 Crane St., 706 Crane St., 710 Crane St., 401 Brandywine Ave., 113 Duane Ave. and 319 Duane Ave. will be knocked down.

In December, two buildings at 80 Wyllie St. and 227 Furman St. will be demolished.

Bids for the five demolitions announced on Friday are due to be delivered to City Hall’s office of the City Clerk by 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 10.
