A Schenectady woman has been charged in the weekend attempted robbery of a Rotterdam Stewart’s Shop, police said.

Jamie L. Enos, 30, of 68 Willow Ave., faces one count of first-degree attempted robbery, a felony.

Enos is accused of walking into the Stewart’s Shop at 1841 Helderberg Ave. just after 5 a.m. Sunday and handing the clerk a note. The message on the note demanded cash and implied she had a gun, police said.

The clerk refused to hand over anything and Enos fled on foot empty handed, police said. No gun was displayed.

Detectives identified Enos through surveillance footage. Police also credited the public with identifying her after police released the footage looking for help.

Detectives located Enos Wednesday evening on Bridge Street in Schenectady and arrested her after a brief foot chase.

Enos is in custody on $50,000 bail. Schenectady and Colonie police departments assisted.
