A man hit by a car early this morning in Schenectady has died of his injuries, according to police.
A car struck the man, who is not being identified at this time, around 6:50 a.m. at State Street and Veeder Avenue, police said.
He was hit while walking near the intersection. He was transported to Albany Medical Center with head and chest injuries, according to police.
Police are working to locate and notify the man’s family before releasing his identity. The man was 79 years old, police said.
Police are still investigating into the cause of the accident. No charges have been filed at this time.
