Schenectady artist Terry Bat-Sonya Zacuto was always afraid of snakes.
“Yet the more I painted snakes, the less revulsion I felt,” she says.
“The work began to move into a very sensual coiled flow of endless variations of ceaseless movement, complexity, thickness and color-emotions that presented themselves with each new painting, until I was completely unself-conscious.”
“Coiled Infinities,” abstract paintings and sculptural installations by Bat-Sonja Zacuto is currently on exhibit in the Perrella Gallery at Fulton-Montgomery Community College in Johnstown.
Bat-Sonja Zacuto, who was born in South Africa, has shown her work regionally and nationally. She has works in many private collections.
The exhibit closes on Friday, March 11, with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m.
