University at Albany’s women’s basketball team won its unprecedented fifth straight America East Conference championship with a 59-58 victory over Maine today at SEFCU Arena.
League Most Outstanding Player Shereesha Richards scored 31 points and was named MVP for the tournament. Imani Tate added 15 for the 27-4 Great Danes, who shared the regular season title with Maine.
Sigi Koizar led Maine with 15.
