Schenectady casino vendor fair next week

The future Rivers Casino and Resort at Mohawk Harbor will hold an Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) vendor fair in Albany next week.

The casino’s operator Rush Street Gaming is planning to hold an information session for minority-, women- and disadvantaged-owned businesses to partner with the casino.

• Entertainment

• Food: Baked goods, produce, candy and dairy

• Kitchen equipment

• Signs

• Landscaping

• Office supplies and equipment

• Plumbing and electrical services

• Promotional gift items and marketing prizes

• Restaurant supplies

• General maintenance supplies and cleaning supplies

• Tobacco products

• Uniforms and apparel

The vendor event will be held next Tuesday at the Albany Marriott at 189 Wolf Rd. at 10 a.m. Register by emailing [email protected].

“It is important for us to build a robust and diverse vendor database as we look toward the opening of Rivers Casino and Resort in early 2017,” said General Manager Mary Cheeks in a statement. “The gaming industry is a unique environment, so we hope businesses come to learn more about working in gaming and working with us.”

The casino, now under construction on the Mohawk Harbor site, is expected to open by next March. It will have an adjacent 163-room hotel along with a banquet facility and restaurants.

The casino recently posted descriptions of more than 100 jobs online at riverscasinoandresort.com with the option to apply for director and management level positions.

The Galesi Group is developing the old Alco site off Erie Boulevard with housing, hotels, office and retail buildings and a 50-boat-slip harbor.
