A Brooklyn man died at the Ellis Medicine ER Friday night after being shot in the torso, police said. His death is being investigated as a homicide.
The victim, Taquan Foreman, 29, of Brooklyn, was brought to the ER in a private vehicle at 10:35 p.m. Friday and died in the hospital, police said.
Police say the homicide took place in the area of 410 Paige St., Schenectady, which is being treated as a crime scene by investigators.
The scene outside was quiet on Saturday just before noon. The street in front of the house was blocked off by crime scene tape and a Schenectady police cruiser was parked at the curb.
Neighborhood resident Willie Reese, who lives on nearby Hamilton Street, stood outside the police cordon and said the level of violence has escalated significantly from when he was younger.
“When I was coming up, if we had a fight we were friends the next day, it was all over,” said Reese. “There wasn’t much violence back then like there is now. Now you got to watch out for yourself.”
Police say no arrests have been made and there is no suspect description.
