Starting this morning, a portion of Seneca Street will be closed to traffic until Wednesday.

At 7 a.m. Seneca Street, between Erie Boulevard and Foster Avenue, will be closed until Wednesday for the installation of a water line, according to the city’s department of utilities & facilities.

Erie Boulevard in the southbound direction will also be reduced to one lane of traffic at Seneca Street.

Rifenburg Construction of Troy will be installing a waterline there as part of the Erie Boulevard and Nott Street roundabout construction and Mohawk Harbor project, Signal Superintendent John Coluccio said.

Traffic will be detoured over Maxon Road and Nott Street during the road closures.

The construction of the roundabout at the intersection of Erie and Nott is ongoing and expected to finish by July 1. Work is also ongoing at Mohawk Harbor with the construction of a casino, housing and office and retail.
