Schenectady pools to open for summer

Schenectady’s four public pools are opening soon for the summer.

Schenectady’s four public pools are opening soon for the summer.

The Central Park pool will open first on June 27 and stay open until August 27. Hours are Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.

Hillhurst Park pool, Quackenbush Park pool and Front Street pool all open for the season on July 2 and will stay open until August 19.

Hillhurst Park pool hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pool is also open on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. but closed on Sunday.

The pools at Quackenbush Park and Front Street will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:30 to 6 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 to 5 p.m.

Both pools also have Saturday hours from 1 to 5 p.m. and will be closed on Sunday.

The three pools will offer family swim on Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. with two children allowed per adult.

Quackenbush Park pool will also be offering swim lessons Monday through Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

All swimmers ages 0 to 5 are required to have an adult swimmer in the water with them and children ages 5 to 10 need an adult in the pool area with them. People 19 years and older are considered adult swimmers.

All swimmers are required to have a photo ID and people ages 0 to 20 will be asked to fill out a registration form.
