The future Rivers Casino and Resort at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady is now accepting resumes for a dozen positions.

The Rivers Casino is looking for individuals to fill management, specialist and director level positions at the casino, which is expected to open its doors off Erie Boulevard in March.

“These are critical technical and managerial roles at Rivers Casino and Resort Schenectady,” said Mary Cheeks, general manager of the casino. “This represents the next step in bringing on the approximately 1,200 team members who will staff this entertainment destination.”

Casino operator Rush Street Gaming of Chicago is accepting resumes for a slot technical shift manager, slot operations shift manager, slot administrator, slot technician, table games shift manager, poker shift manager, poker manager, director of IT, executive host, digital and social media specialist, payroll manager and director of facilities.

More information about the positions can be found on the Rivers Casino website.

The $330 million casino is expected to create a total of about 1,200 jobs. The casino will feature 1,150 slot machines, 63 table games and 16 poker tables along with an adjacent 163-room hotel.

In March the casino posted information about several director and management level positions including director of human resources, director of sales, director of IT, director of marketing, payroll manager and purchasing director.

Dozens of other positions are posted online with descriptions but are not yet open for applications.

Hiring for positions at the casino will occur in stages with more job opportunities expected to become available later this year and early next year. The casino is planning to host informational hiring events in the near future.

“I look forward to announcing more opportunities in the coming months and encourage jobs seekers to check our website to find descriptions of the various positions that will become available so as to best prepare themselves,” Cheeks said.
