A new development along Route 147 is in the early stages of planning and will be discussed further at the next village Planning Board meeting.
A developer is proposing to build a mixed-use facility that would include retail and apartments on the upper level, said Luis Aguero, building inspector for the village. The development would go at 186 Sacandaga Road, which is currently an empty lot, he said. It’s located next to a Mini Mart gas station, and just a few addresses down from the former Dairy Circus.
In addition to the proposed retail and living space, Aguero said the project would likely lead to a new sidewalk in front of the property.
Aguero said the proposal is in the very early stages, and added that it would be discussed for the first time with the Planning Board at its July 11 meeting. That meeting is also scheduled to feature an update on proposed renovations to the CVS Pharmacy located on Mohawk Avenue, and a public hearing for feedback on a proposed Comfort Inn that would replace the Scotia Motel on Neal Street.
