A man was shot in the area of Paige and Van Voast streets Tuesday afternoon but wasn’t there when police arrived.

Schenectady police said they received reports of a male possibly shot down the street from Jerry Burrell Park in Hamilton Hill around 12:40 p.m., according to Sgt. Matt Dearing.

When officers arrived there was no victim, but there was blood in the street along with personal property on the corner, police said.

Police Wednesday morning confirmed the victim as Stephon Rucker, 30, of Brooklyn.

Rucker showed up at Ellis Hospital, which is about a 10-minute drive away, a short time later, Dearing said.

Dearing said the victim, who is 30 years old but was not identified by police, suffered a gunshot wound.

Rucker was transported to Albany Medical Center and is in stable condition as of Wednesday morning, according to police.

There are no suspects at this time, Dearing said.
