Summer is winding down and you might still have a wad of cash burning a hole in your pocket.

Fortunately, there are plenty of ways around Saratoga to spend that money quickly and for maximum enjoyment. As usual, there are plenty of options at the track begging for you to throw away some money — and maybe get some back if you’re lucky. The list also includes lavish ways to get some bang for your buck at Saratoga Polo and elsewhere.

If you’re itching to treat yourself, here are 10 ways to spend lots of money quickly in Saratoga.

1. Splurge on a box at Saratoga Race Course. If you’re planning on spending a day at the track, why not set yourself in the best possible seats, while also unloading a couple hundred bucks? In addition to the prime view of the races, you’ll be treated to waiter service and an in-box betting terminal. Just make sure to dress for the occasion.

2. If you’re willing to wake up early, you can grab breakfast at the track. Admission to get in from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. is free, but you’ll have to pay to enjoy the buffet. It can be a nice way to spend the morning with a family member, and catch up on life while track-side.

3. Stop by one of Saratoga’s cigar shops, including James and Sonns on Broadway, and Smokin’ Sam’s on Caroline Street. Spend big on one of their offerings of cigars, pipes and other products.

4. For a fancy drink, a trip to the Saratoga Polo Association offers the chance to sip on champagne while watching the sport. Get rid of a couple twenties, and watch the staff sabre the champagne — or open it with a sword — while you’re at it.

5. If you want to take relaxation to the next level, you can pay for a mineral bath at Roosevelt Baths in the Saratoga Spa State Park. Couple it with a massage, and your money will be well spent on rejuvenation.

6. Treat yourself, or the family, or friends, to a concert at SPAC. There are still plenty of shows coming up this season, including Florida Georgia Line and Blink 182, so there’s ample opportunity to locate your ideal seats. Just remember, the closer to the stage, the steeper the price.

7. If there’s a big ticket item — a hat for the race course, a piece of art or an article of clothing — that has caught your eye while strolling down Broadway in the past, why not go for it, regardless of price tag?

8. If you’re a golfer, Saratoga has a pair of higher-end offerings to get you out on the links. The Saratoga Spa course offers 27 holes at rates around $50 for an 18-hole round. Or, if you’re really looking to splurge, take your clubs to Saratoga National, where a summer tee time will run you more than $100.

9. Cap off any day at one of Saratoga’s fine dining establishments, where you can eat well and treat yourself to a delicious meal. There are plenty of steakhouses, American restaurants, Italian joints and other hot spots just a short distance from the track or Broadway.

10. The best way to spend a load of cash at once might be the way where you can earn some of it back. So get to the track, or casino, and go big, or go home. Place a big bet on an underdog, or on an exacta box to try and maximize your winnings, or play it safe and put all your money on a favorite.
