Man shot in Schenectady, 3 suspects at large

A 51-year-old man was shot in Schenectady early this morning and sent to the hospital.

A 51-year-old man was shot in Schenectady early this morning and sent to the hospital.

A man, who is not being identified by police at this time, was shot around 1:30 a.m. on Catherine Street, according to police.

The victim was shot once in the pelvic area inside a home at 22 Catherine St. during a robbery, police said.

Police said there are three suspects but did not provide descriptions of the suspects. There are no arrests in connection with the incident at this time.

The victim was sent to Ellis Hospital and later transferred to Albany Medical Center, where he is in surgery now, police Sgt. Matt Dearing said.

The victim is in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking people with any information about the incident to call 518-382-5245.
