ALBANY — To celebrate music director David Alan Miller’s 25th anniversary with the Albany Symphony Orchestra, cellist Yo-Yo Ma makes his return to Albany tonight, 10 years after he first appeared with the symphony.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Palace Theatre.

Ma will perform Elgar’s Cello Concerto alongside Dvorak’s Serenade For Strings, Wagner’s Prelude to Die Meistersinger and a world premiere performance by American composer Conor Brown.

Under Miller, the orchestra has won 30 ASCAP Awards for adventurous and innovative concert programming and a 2014 Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Album. It has received a “world-class orchestra” label by National Public Radio.

Tickets start at $50. Call the box office at 694-3300 or visit ticketmaster.com.
