Hadley man rescued from burning car

Two Samaritans save man's life

Two good samaritans are being credited with rescuing a Hadley man from a burning car Thursday afternoon.

Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies said David Demarco was driving east near 3266 North Shore Road in Hadley shortly before 1:30 p.m. when his car slid, crossed into a ditch, rolled over and caught fire with him trapped inside.

Two passersby, George Bourdean of South Glens Falls and Thomas Fifield of Mayfield, stopped to help and were successful in freeing Demarco from the vehicle, saving his life, deputies said.

Demarco was sent to Glens Falls Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.

Hadley Lazerne fire and ambulance crews assisted at the scene.
