Say what you will about the American intelligence community, but no American leader has ever shown such un-American disrespect for one of the bravest communities on the planet — the women and men who provide us data, information, and knowledge about those who would do us harm.
President-elect Trump states he will forego daily intelligence briefings. This decision is a humiliating slap in the face to those Americans and non-Americans who put their lives on the line for our freedom. Mr. Trump’s declaration that he will not receive these briefings can only crush the spirit of those who risk everything to help America and embolden those who seek our destruction.
We already know that Trump has no respect for veterans who stood on the front lines, and now we know he has equal, maybe more, disdain for those who are working behind enemy lines.
Show some respect and listen to the briefings, Mr. Trump. Who knows. You might even learn something.
