SARATOGA  SPRINGS — The city has declared a snow emergency, requiring all vehicles on city streets to be moved to a plowed or cleared area, starting at 9 a.m. on Friday.

After 9 a.m., all vehicles must also be moved every 12 hours until 9 p.m. on Saturday, according to the emergency declaration.

Except for streets posted for alternate-side parking, it is illegal during the snow emergency to park or stand “for any continuous period of time in excess of 12 hours,” the city said in its prepared statement. Vehicles in violation of the rules risk being ticketed and/or towed at the owners’ expense.
