SCHENECTADY — A city police officer suffered a hand injury trying to arrest a man Sunday evening, authorities said.
Officer Scott Bobrowich suffered the injury just before 6 p.m. while arresting Billy-Jack Batease on Van Vranken Avenue, according to papers filed in court.
Batease, 36, of Van Vranken Avenue, faces one count of second-degree assault, a felony, as well as felony criminal contempt and other charges.
Police arrested him on the contempt count in connection with allegations from Oct. 31 that he violated an order of protection related to a domestic dispute between Batease and his wife, according to court documents.
