SCHENECTADY — Officials are set to announce Tuesday the first retail tenant at the Riverhouse complex on Schenectady’s Mohawk Harbor.

The tenant will be a local business that officials said will complement the nearby Rivers Casino & Resort, which is located within walking distance of the Riverhouse. Representatives from the Galesi Group, the Rotterdam-based developer leading the Mohawk Harbor development project, will make the announcement at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Courtyard Marriott at Mohawk Harbor. City and county officials are expected to attend.

The Riverhouse, which can be seen behind the Marriott from Erie Boulevard, will consist of 206 luxury apartments, with businesses housed on the main floor. The complex is scheduled to open this summer, and Galesi Group CEO David Buicko has said the company is already garnering interest from prospective residents.

Monthly rent for a studio apartment starts at $1,000, a one-bedroom apartment starts at $1,500, and two-bedroom apartments cost anywhere from $2,000-$3,300, depending on the floor plan and location within the building, according to the Riverhouse website.

Rivers Casino & Resort is scheduled to open Feb. 8 at noon, while other projects on the harbor, including two office and retail complexes, are set to open this summer.
