The Tilted Kilt, which opened a Niskayuna location about nine months ago, is now closed.
The establishment appeared empty Monday, with a small sign in one window saying “Temporarily Closed for Remodel.”
However, according to the Kilt’s Facebook page, the location is permanently closed. The phone number listed rings without answer.
“It wasn’t doing very well,” said Lou Lecce, a development attorney who was formerly a partner in Mansion Square, the development where Tilted Kilt is located.
It was the first Tilted Kilt to open in the Capital Region. The franchise, which has more than 100 locations nationwide, serves Scottish-inspired bar fare and is perhaps most known for the waiters’ and waitresses’ uniforms — revealing lots of skin and, in the case of waitresses, emphasizing cleavage, as is common in the category of eatery known as “breastaurants.”
The company did not return a call for comment.
