City police are investigating an armed carjacking that occurred Monday morning in the vicinity of Barney Street.
Police said they were notified of the incident about 11:45 a.m. that an employee of Action Transportation, a non-emergency medical transportation company, had been approached by a man who displayed a small black handgun. The vehicle, a 2010 Honda Accord that belonged to Action Transportation, was later recovered in the area of Elmer Avenue and Stanford Street and was unoccupied, police said.
The incident is currently under investigation by police detectives and evidence technicians. Police said anyone with any information may contact the detective division at 382-5602.
