I recently read that Gov. Cuomo is seeking to impose an “energy tax” on public buildings, including schools. If this comes to be, the Ballston Spa School District will see a bill in the amount of approximately, $36,000. I’ve heard that this money will be used to bail out the nuclear plants in the state.
Enough with the taxes, please. In the upcoming election in the village of Ballston Spa, the Democratic candidate for trustee, Noah Shaw, who, by the way, works of NYSERDA (The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority), will not respond to any questions about this tax. He will not say if he is for or against it.
He must be knowledgeable on the topic because of where he works, but no answers are presented. This lack of willingness to answer important questions makes me very uneasy. The Republican candidates, Ron Henry and Bruce Couture, will be getting my vote on March 21 because they have answered by question and told me that they are adamantly against this tax. I hope my neighbors will do the same.
