Police: Schenectady man hit son with paddle

Faces felony, misdemeanor counts

SCHENECTADY — A Campbell Avenue resident is accused of assaulting his son by hitting him on the leg with a wooden paddle, authorities said.

Paul Oliver, 42, faces one count each of second-degree assault, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Oliver is accused of using the paddle to hit his son Saturday afternoon at his residence, causing bruising, according to court documents.
