School softball: Albanese pitches no-hitter

Emily Albanese pitched a six-inning no-hitter, striking out nine, in Shenendehowa’s 15-0 win over Niskayuna in a Suburban Council game.

Nicole McCarvill had a homer, double, single and three RBIs to spark the Shenendehowa offense.

Maddie Burns struck out 20 and gave up two hits, and Kelsey O’Brien and Mariah Leahey both had two singles and an RBI Wednesday to lift Columbia past Guilderland 5-0.

Burns, who walked two, lost her no-hit bid when Arielys Rodriguez reached on a bunt single in the fourth inning.

Columbia boosted its league mark to 10-3, and went to 12-5 overall.

Grace Thompson homered among her three hits, and Ana Gold, Jillian Nitchman and Caroline Srkowski also had three hits as Ballston Spa beat Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 13-2.

Shaker beat Saratoga Springs 2-0 behind Allie Lajeunesse’s two-hit, nine-strikeout pitching.

Hunter Levesque and Serafina French both had three hits and three RBIs to help Troy beat Schenectady 29-1.

Molly Pezzano had two hits and drove in the Schenectady run.

Grace Purvis fired a four-hitter, fanned 13 and had two singles and an RBI in Scotia-Glenville’s 6-0 Foothills Council win over Amsterdam.

Naudia Smith had two singles and four RBIs for the Tartans (8-4, 10-5).

Liz Craig hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to give Germantown a 9-8 Central Hudson Valley League win over Emma Willard.

Jenna Egan went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Clippers (14-0, 15-0).

Victoria Passonno and Cassidy Schaeffer both had two singles and an RBI, and Duanesburg (9-1, 13-3) did all of its scoring in the second inning to beat Mayfield 3-1 in the Western Athletic Conference.

Eagles’ hurler Alexa Lombardoni spun a one-hitter. Duanesburg clinched at least a share of the Mohawk Division title.

Isabelle DeChiaro collected two triples, two doubles, a single and three RBIs to carry Cohoes past Holy Names 13-2 in the Colonial Council.

Marle Dame had a triple, double, single and two RBIs for the Tigers (10-1, 13-4).

Abby Hamilton went 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs, and Hope Hiscock went 4-for-4 with two RBIs as Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons beat Cobleskill-Richmondville 10-9 in a non-league game.

Jess Senecal gave up four hits and fanned eight, and Alexis O’Brien went 3-for-3 with a double to key Watervliet’s 19-1 win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.
