A city teenager has been charged in connection with a fire this week at a vacant Mont Pleasant home, authorities said.

Nhazeem S. Boghosian, 16, of Summit Avenue, was arrested midday Friday. He faces one count of third-degree arson, a felony. Boghosian turned 16 last month.

Boghosian is accused of setting fire to 792 Francis Ave. late Tuesday night. The flames threatened a neighboring house, but firefighters were able to contain them to the original building.

The fire started at around 9 p.m. inside the vacant structure. Boghosian is accused of using an open flame to set fire to materials inside, damaging the building, according to papers filed in court.

Police based the charges on physical evidence, statements made by Boghosian and video evidence, according to papers.

No injuries were reported.
