[Regarding FBI Director James Comey] Politics aside, let’s look at how it was done. Did the president ask the director to come to his office, close the door, explain why he wanted his resignation, and then ask for it? No.
Instead he wrote a letter (somehow made public), did not bother to see if the director was in town, and then had a Secret Service agent deliver the letter to the FBI.
The director, without the courtesy of a face-to-face meeting, seeing the news on TV, naturally thought this was a prank. Was this presidential leadership or cowardice?
