A skull found in Coxsackie is that of an adult male, meaning the remains are not those of missing Jaliek Rainwalker, Gazette news-gathering partner CBS6 reported this week, citing state police.

The investigation into whom the remains actually belonged to remains ongoing, the station reported.

A hiker found the skull near the Hudson River in February. It was initially thought to be that of a boy age 10 to 13. Rainwalker went missing from his Greenwich home in 2007 at the age of 12. His disappearance has since been categorized as a “probable child homicide.”
