Pickup truck crashes in Niskayuna

A man was taken to Albany Medical Center with injuries to his lower extremities after his pickup truck hit a tree on Balltown Road Friday afternoon, police said.

The pickup truck lost control and struck a tree off Balltown Road near its intersection with Providence Avenue at 4:07 p.m., said Niskayuna Deputy Police Chief Michael Stevens. He said a medical condition may have contributed to the accident. Police had not yet released the man’s identity Friday evening.

Balltown Road was at least partially shut down for about three hours. Schenectady police assisted with reconstruction of the accident, Stevens said.
