SARATOGA SPRINGS — The 10th annual Cantina Kids Fun Run on Sunday raised $76,500 for Saratoga Hospital — breaking its previous record of $60,000 in 2014.
More than 700 participated in the run held in Congress Park.
The run, which was started in 2008, has raised $409,000 to benefit pediatric emergency services at Saratoga Hospital, as well as pediatric dental care at the hospital’s Saratoga Community Health Center.
“The 10th anniversary had a lot of personal meaning for us,” said Cantina’s Heath Ames — who came up with the idea with husband Jeff and brought it to Saratoga Hospital — in a news release. “Along with the money and awareness raised over the years, engaging our kids to help others and showing how a community comes together is a wonderful lesson to share.”
Saratoga Independent School won the Healthiest School Contest for having the highest percentage of registered students.
