BALLSTON — A Schenectady teen teamed up with others to beat a man, hit him with a tree branch and steal his boots in a Route 50 parking lot, according to Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies.
Devin W. Campbell, 16, of Craig Street, was charged Wednesday with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault, both felonies, after Town Justice John Fantauzzi issued a warrant for his arrest, deputies said Friday.
Campbell was arraigned in Town Court and was returned to Schenectady County jail, where he had been held on unrelated charges, deputies said. Bail was set at $2,500 cash or $10,000 bond.
He is the second teen — and the third individual — to be charged in connection with the alleged assault on April 10. Tyler R. Conner, 17, of Ballston Lake, and Abdellah N. Campbell, 20, of Troy, were arrested on April 10 and face the same felony charges.
All three are accused of being part of a group that chased an unnamed 28-year-old man into the parking lot where they punched and kicked him and hit him with the branch, causing injury, deputies said. The trio then forcibly stole his boots, according to deputies.
