CLIFTON PARK — A Berne woman is accused of taking thousands of dollars through a check-cashing scheme at a bank in Clifton Park, state police said.

Berne woman arrested.jpgSara E. Reinisch, 37, faces one count each of third-degree and fourth-degree grand larceny, both felonies. State police arrested her Wednesday.

The investigation began after state police received a complaint Monday of a fraudulent deposit totaling more than $21,000. The deposit was made to a checking account listed in Reinisch’s name.

State police determined Reinisch made multiple transfers of funds between accounts before withdrawing more than $19,000 in cash on separate dates from accounts also listed in her name at the Key Bank in Clifton Park, police said.

Reinisch was arraigned and released. She will return to court at a later date to answer the charges.
