Mary Cheeks, general manager of Rivers Casino & Resort, said she spent many nights in area hotels in the months before she moved to the Capital Region for the job, and none of them quite had all the amenities she was looking for.

That’s a void she believes The Landing Hotel can fill.

The boutique hotel will open sometime in July adjacent to the casino, and will begin taking reservations in about 10 days. Officials hosted a walk-through of the property on Wednesday, which was the first look inside the six-story, 165-room structure.

Cheeks and hotel general manager Ryan Cimei said the hotel will appeal to casino patrons, tourists and business travelers alike. Since it is not a brand-name hotel, Cimei said, The Landing will have more flexibility and be able to cater to guests’ needs on a more personalized level.

The hotel is attached to the casino and shares an outdoor patio space, and will offer bell service, valet parking, a fitness center, meeting space and riverfront views.

The addition of The Landing Hotel is the latest in a recent spike in lodging options in the area. The Courtyard by Marriott at Mohawk Harbor is located on the same development plot as the casino, and a new Homewood Suites recently opened just across Freemans Bridge in Glenville.

Here’s are some quick facts about The Landing Hotel, including how it compares to other new lodging options in the area:

  • Six floors, 165 rooms (all non-smoking), with 14 suites and 76 rooms with Mohawk River views.
  • Will employ about 60 people.
  • Amenities include a fitness center, outdoor patio space, riverfront views, bell and valet service, room service from casino dining options, a bar in the lobby, 700-square-foot meeting space and spa access.
  • The hotel entrance is the same as the casino entrance, but visitors will turn to their right instead of their left to check in.
  • Prices vary depending on room size, room location and time of year, but start at $139/per night, and range into the $200 and low $300 range. Casino rewards members will receive discounts.
