Still celebrating its first year, Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady will set off fireworks Monday and Tuesday to honor our nation’s birth. The fireworks will be on the Mohawk River, at approximately 9:15 p.m. both nights.

The fireworks can be viewed in the Rivers Casino parking lot north of the parking garage closest to the CDTA bus shelter, as well as Schenectady County Community College.

Because there is limited parking, viewers are encouraged to use public transportation. This includes the CDTA bus service and the Electric City Trolley.

In addition to fireworks, the casino will continue its On the Patio music series with performances from noon to 3 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

As Rivers Casino just opened in February, this year will be the start of what officials there hope will be an annual show.
