Police: Officers injured in struggle with Schenectady man

He faces felony assault, resisting arrest, drug counts

SCHENECTADY — A city man struggled with officers Monday evening and injured two, authorities said.

Juwan A. Parker, 22, of Albany Street, faces two counts of second-degree assault, a felony, along with resisting arrest and drug counts, records show.

Parker is accused of injuring Sgt. Michael Dalton and Officer Richard Desbiens Monday night on Albany Street, according to papers filed in court.

Parker is accused of fighting with officers trying to arrest him on drug charges just before 7:30 p.m. Desbiens suffered swelling and bruising to his right eye; Dalton suffered mobility-limiting injuries to his knee and back. Both were treated at Ellis Hospital, according to court papers.

Parker was also arrested on felony drug possession and sale counts from last month in Schenectady, records show.
