SARATOGA SPRINGS — City residents will be able to drop off household hazardous waste, including pesticides, oil-based paints, automotive fluids, acids and fluorescent light tubes, at a city-organized collection day on Oct. 7.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon at the Weibel Avenue Ice Rink parking lot.
The collection day is put on in collaboration with the state Department of Environmental Conservation under the household hazardous waste state assistance program.
The event is open to city residents only, and a current form of valid identification is required as proof of residency. Interested residents can register online at the city of Saratoga Springs website at saratoga-springs.org. Those who do not have online access can contact the city Department of Public Works at 518-587-3550, ext. 2555, to obtain a registration form.
