COLONIE – A motorcyclist from Schenectady suffered injuries Friday morning after he hit a deer on Central Avenue, police said.
The motorcyclist, 24, struck the animal at about 7:14 a.m. after the deer emerged from a nearby stand of woods in the area of Lisha Kill Road, the man told investigators.
The motorcycle overturned and sent the rider to the pavement. He was taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. His name was not released pending notification of family.
No charges are expected. The crash is being investigated by the Colonie Police Traffic Safety Unit.
