I’m writing this letter in support of Elizabeth (Betsy) Batchelor’s bid for Gloversville’s Third Ward Common Council seat.
I have worked with Betsy on the Library Board since 2005 as a fellow board member. She became my official co-chair for the 2014 capital campaign. Betsy has shown time and again her commitment to the importance of revitalizing Gloversville, and she actively works to achieve that goal. She doesn’t just talk about it; she works hard to do what she can to ensure a better future for this community.
She was tireless in her efforts to raise the funds we needed to renovate the library, devoting an incredible amount of time to that task and working closely with other volunteers. She worked closely with local politicians as well as state leaders to raise their awareness of the needs of this community and the Library.
Elizabeth Batchelor is a thoughtful listener. She thinks carefully over what people have said and takes action when she sees the need. Her successes are a result of her ability to work with others to solve a problem. She didn’t grow up here in Gloversville; she chose to live here. If elected to the Common Council, Betsy will make her job as the representative of the Third Ward her priority and she will work hard to represent all of her constituents.
She will be a positive addition to our Common Council and she will continue to work hard to make Gloversville a better place for all of us to live.
